Clear answer

What is a trackless train rental?

A trackless train rental is a ride-on attraction — a locomotive-style engine pulling passenger cars — that runs on ordinary surfaces (pavement, grass, gym floors, hard-packed gravel) without fixed rails. You book it for a set number of hours; a trained operator runs continuous boarding and short loops or a route planned for your venue. Guests ride; you do not operate the equipment yourself.

Northern Lights Express is a fully managed service across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan: delivery, setup and teardown, pre-event route consultation, and commercial general liability insurance are included on every booking — the same model whether you are planning a corporate event, festival, school day, or private celebration.

Real events. Real guests. Fully managed.
The problem — and the fix

Why most events feel the same

Guests have seen the checklist. You need one attraction that creates a shared moment across ages — and you need it fully managed.

The sameness trap

DJ. Photo booth. Open bar. Step and repeat. Every event on the same checklist — and guests who've stopped expecting anything different.

Half the crowd always opts out

Entertainment that works for the 30-year-olds doesn't work for the kids. Entertainment for the kids loses the adults. You end up splitting the room.

One more vendor to manage

Most rentals give you equipment and leave. You're the one managing the setup, watching the kids around it, and cleaning up after. That's not entertainment — that's another job.

One fix for all three

Nobody expects the train.

But once it arrives — nobody skips it either.

Northern Lights Express is a fully managed trackless train that goes anywhere — no tracks, no infrastructure, no setup on your part. The CEO's kid and the CEO board at the same time, for the same reason.

All ages

Toddlers through seniors board together — the mixed-age moment nobody else creates.

Fully managed

Operator included. Delivery, setup, and breakdown on us. You enjoy the event.

The anchor

The train becomes the social focal point. Every guest gravitates to it, photographs it, talks about it.

How it works

Three steps.
Zero friction.

You tell us the date and the space. We send a clear quote. Then we run the attraction start to finish — operator, setup, and teardown included.

01

Tell us about your event

Share your date, venue or general location, expected guest count, and how many hours you need. A photo of the space helps us confirm fit. No forms to fill out — a quick message works.

We respond within 1 business day
02

Get your custom quote

We'll send a clear, itemized quote covering everything — travel, duration, and any event-specific details. The price you're quoted is the price you pay. No extras added on event day.

All costs transparent upfront
03

We handle everything else

A deposit locks your date. On event day, we arrive 45–60 minutes early, set up the train and route, run the ride for your full booked duration, and break everything down after. You're a guest at your own event.

Before you book

The questions
everyone asks

Answered directly — no sales pitch. These are the six most common questions people ask before booking.

Does someone operate the train, or do we manage it ourselves?

Every booking includes a trained, professional operator. You don't manage anything — just enjoy the event while we handle the ride.

Is it insured? What if something goes wrong?

Yes — commercial liability coverage is included on every booking. We operate professionally so nothing goes wrong, but the coverage is there regardless.

Will it actually fit at my venue?

Most venues work — grass, pavement, indoors, gravel. We review your space before confirming. If you're unsure, send us a photo and we'll give you a straight answer.

What happens if it rains or gets windy?

Light rain is fine. For heavier conditions, we confirm a go/no-go decision with you early on event day — well before anyone shows up. If it's a no-go, we reschedule.

What's actually included in the price?

Operator, delivery, setup, route planning, and teardown. Everything needed to run a smooth event is included. No surprise add-on fees for the basics.

How does booking actually work?

Tell us your event date, location, and expected guest count. We'll respond with a quote — usually within one business day. No contracts to navigate on your own.
